| | We're using Prism v6.2 and use groups to deploy packages. After reinstalling the OS on a computer (same computername,mac,ip-address) In the subscription file we use name computer using Active Directory name. What happens is that a new computer object is created in prism with the same name but the assignment to the groups are missing. Is there a way to avoid this and/or is this solved the later versions of Prism? |

| If you want the reinstalled computer to have all of the same assignments as it had before, you have to follow these steps as part of your rebuilding process:After reinstalling the OS, but before running the subscription file, copy the subscription to the local drive of the rebuilt PC, and take the PC off the network. (We want to prevent it from polling the Channel until some other prep is done.) Run the subscription file, then open regedit. Delete all entries under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\PictureTaker. Delete RegValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Channels\
\Data. Delete RegValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Channels\
\Last Active Directory Computer Name. Delete RegValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Channels\
\Last Valid Target Name. Delete RegValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Channels\
\Last Valid Target Ident. DO NOT delete Delete RegValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Channels\
\Last Valid Target Number. It doesn't matter what the number is, it just has to exist. Reboot the computer and plug it back on the network. When it comes back up and polls the Channel, it should start receiving all the tasks it had before.
Let us know if it works as expected!
