The setup for Symantec AV is a Windows Installer file. The process of capturing the installation in a Package starts with a clean machine. However, if you're upgrading from an earlier version, then your baseline system should have the earlier version installed. Take a baseline picture, then run the setup with the relevant switches. After installation, make sure Symantec AV has the settings you want to use and everything works as expected. At that point, capture the changes in a Package. We strongly recommend you open and inspect the Package in the Editor and edit out any extraneous entries.

The next step is to test the Package throughly on some non-production systems, and then test on a few production systems before rolling it out company-wide.

Hi,
I'm a newbie here and was wondering if anyone had experience packaging Symantec AntiVirus 10.0.2.2000 using Prism Pack. Any thoughts or inputs on what should be removed from the package after capture from a vanilla box would be useful and appreciated.
