| | Hi, I am new to this, so sorry if this has been addressed before. I have created a package to deploy Adobe Acrobat 7 on to a machine that has Adobe Acrobat 6 installed. Part of the process to install is the uninstall of the previous version which is handled by the newer version. However, during the uninstall it pulls the printer port assignment and after the package has been run, the printer is installed but is shown off-line and this is due to the non-existent port. Am I missing something in this process? the OS's involved are Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro with latest Service Packs installed. Thanks! |

| Hi, Should a printer exist after 7 is installed or not? I do not like to capture an uninstall during an install when packaging. I usually uninstall first, then run a clean install package. If both versions create a printer, some reg keys may have been missed. Adobe is tricky to package especially the new versions. |

| | Thank you for your response. The printer and port exists prior to the uninstall of Adobe 6 and I need to have it existing for the use of Adobe Acrobat 7. Somewhere during the uninstall of 6, they are removed. The install process brings back the printer, but the port is mising, so not sure how we can rectify this. Thanks! |

| I do not have the full version of Acrobat to test but if you look at a capture of an Acrobat 7 install, under the HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print there should be added keys to make the port for your printer. Compare a fresh install with what you currently have and import any missing keys. You might open your package and where it deletes the port for 6, just take that part out and leave it. It might work for 7. Welcome! |

| | Okay, will give that a try, but seems that the regkey should have been maintained, and I know that the key existed on the image I built the package. Appreciate your assistance on this! |
